Acceptable Use Policy

Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of all services provided by Innovatech Group, a trading name of INNOVATECH GROUP (PTY) LTD (registration number 2017/044479/07). It exists to keep shared infrastructure fast, secure and reputable for every client on it, and it forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited content

You may not use our services to host, store or distribute: material that is unlawful in South Africa; child sexual abuse material; content that incites violence or hatred; material that infringes copyright, trade marks or other intellectual property; or content designed to defraud, including phishing pages and fake storefronts.

2. Email and bulk messaging

Unsolicited bulk email is prohibited. You may only send commercial email to recipients who have opted in, and every such message must identify the sender and offer a working unsubscribe mechanism, in line with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 and POPIA. Operating a mailing list on our infrastructure with purchased, scraped or harvested addresses is a breach of this AUP. We may apply outbound rate limits to protect the reputation of shared mail servers.

3. Resource use on shared infrastructure

Plans described as offering unlimited bandwidth or email accounts are intended for normal website and business email use. Processes that degrade service for other clients on the same server — runaway scripts, unindexed database queries, cryptocurrency mining, public file-distribution or media-streaming archives, or use of a hosting account primarily as a backup or storage target — are not permitted. We will contact you before acting whenever the situation allows it.

4. Security

You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, scan or probe networks you do not control, distribute malware, or run software with known unpatched vulnerabilities. Keep your applications, plugins and themes current; a compromised installation on shared infrastructure puts every other account at risk. You are responsible for activity originating from your account, whether or not you authorised it.

5. Reporting abuse

Report suspected abuse of our network to info@innovatechgroup.co.za with enough detail — URLs, headers, timestamps — for us to investigate.

6. Enforcement

Depending on severity we may ask you to remedy the issue, apply resource limits, suspend the affected service, or in serious cases terminate it. Where the law or an imminent risk to other clients requires immediate action, we will act first and inform you promptly afterwards. If you believe we have acted in error, reply to the notice we send and we will review the decision.
